During the start of the build I did not have a garage available and used this 6 x 2.5 meter Sea Container. To start with it was good but I would like a wider space to build. 6 meters in length  is OK, but the 2.5 meter width should have been at least 3 meters.
The space frame upside down and fitting the aluminum bottom plates. This is one of the few available pictures which show me actually building the car.
This car is a live axle car. Here's the live axle in place and also the fuel tank is already mounted during this stage. The live axle is an old refurbished cortina one cleaned and painted.
Here's an overview of the very wel engineerd RUSH spaceframe. I was very impressed with the quality of the frame and the powder coating. Also the refurbished Sierra Steering column is trial fitted.
The front uprights and the steering rack in place. This car uses the SPAX dampers and the steering rack supplied as part of the RUSH kit by DAX.
Here's a closer look at the double wishbone setup using refurbished cortina uprights. As you can see all secondhand parts are properly cleened, sanded and painted.
Here the engine goes in. The is an old Sierra Pinto OHC 2.0l engine. As you can see I changed the working space from a container to a big factory floor. Can you tell an easier way to lift the engine in. The funny story is that this engine was already replaced after two weeks with an other OHC 2.0 Pinto engine out of a VM. This new engine already had two Weber DOEC40 carbs fitted and the sump modified.
In this picture you can see the carstands from wood. These stands were strong enough to hold the full weight of the car includng engine an myself occasionally. Prior to mine these stands were used to build a Blue Caterham which can be found in the gallery section.
Amazing what a lot of electrical wires actually go into the car. The original DAX loom was used. As I did not like the way DAX setup the dash, I cut all the wiring behind the dash and created my own dash layout..
This is the actual firt test ride with my DAX RUSH. The engine started the second time I turned the key. I switched into reverse hit the throttle and wheelspin. Further I took it easy on the trottle and everything went well. In the whole build of the car I spotted one little bug. When I switched on the main beam, the left and right indicater switched on. I thought I would need a little bit more light at night time so fixed this.
